The German Seed Alliance (GSA) is seated in Cologne. It has been founded in 2008 as a joint venture of several German plant breeding companies. GSA provides a comprehensive product range of innovative plant varieties to its agricultural customers.

The German Seed Alliance pools a variety of activities of its shareholders – research, breeding, seed production and sales. The emphasis is on the coordination of research, the development of joint breeding programmes for foreign markets and on the opening up of these new markets. Currently, GSA focuses on research activities as well as the breeding and distribution of premium varieties in Russia.
